Golf Trousers

What is it about golf trousers, really? With regards men’s fashion, any two-legged suit might do well with any shirt and the only distinction we could think of is the kind of fabric to match the tops – casual shirts, casual polos, and formal polos.

Come to think of it; why would men spend a lot of money on certain golf trousers over another type of golf trousers? Mind you, there is actually a list of categories that most men would want golf trousers to conform to. And, mind you again, they are not mere pants. Men’s vocabulary refers to them as golf trousers.

Take a look. If men want to get rugged or casual, they have denims, which is a popular item among women too. If the guy likes to go casual but not too rugged, they have the corduroys. If they want it formal, they go for trousers which look sleek and very corporate.

Golf is the favorite pastime of corporate males. If girls have tea parties, where they like to flaunt their elegant outfit, the males would of course style up and sport their best-looking golf trousers on the range. It’s when men become meticulous over quality, details, and value.

Golf Trousers

The basic concern with golf trousers are pocket sizes and depths, for holding their balls – golf balls that is – and performance. For the most part, luxury golf trousers can be had for an average price of $400 which is already at its best class from popular men’s boutiques. You can expect fine materials (wool-made) combined with cashmere or silk in its hems. Wool fabric is wrinkle-proof which is ideal for preppy men who love to play it simply with a hint of elegance and comfort. Why? Because wool does not keep moist under its layers and the best thing about it is its durability.

Prices of golf trousers actually vary from cheap (there are select finds you can have for just $30- $100+) to steep. Twenty-something dollar men’s bottom are simple slack that are of poor-quality for discerning golfers to wear. I am quite sure that any professional or plain serious golfers won’t opt for that but some who pay more attention to cost than quality purchase it anyway and just make do.

On the other hand, you have to assure that you get the right stuff before heading for a day of golf. Bring a checklist if you must. The pockets must be very accommodating on the sides and at the back. Make room for the golf paraphernalia to avoid clutter. You wouldn’t like walking around the golf course carrying your gloves and scorecards, or tools, yardage book and ball markers all messed up.
